Job Title: Senior Data Scientist
Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Data Scientist to join our growing AI/ML Center of Excellence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving complex healthcare problems using data science, a solid foundation in statistics and machine learning, and hands-on experience building and deploying models. You will work to develop scalable, explainable, and impactful AI solutions across multiple healthcare use cases, including risk adjustment, quality measurement, and predictive modeling.
Roles & Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Feature Engineering
Conduct end-to-end data wrangling, preprocessing, and EDA on healthcare datasets (EHR, claims, HEDIS/MRA data).
Identify relevant features and hypotheses for testing and support statistical inference and A/B testing frameworks.
Model Explainability & Monitoring
Build explainable models and use tools like SHAP and LIME to ensure transparency and auditability.
Monitor model performance post-deployment and conduct periodic recalibration.
AI/ML Model Development
Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models using Python for use cases like risk stratification, clinical outcomes prediction, fraud detection, and more.
Apply NLP techniques (NER, summarization, topic modeling, embeddings) to extract insights from clinical and claims data.
Design and develop RAG and Agents using standard frameworks like LangChain
Implement MCP servers for Agents and Agent graphs.
HEALTHCARE DOMAIN
· Understand the healthcare domain entities like members, providers & payors and how they interact and impact each other.
· Understand the basics of healthcare processes like claim processing, Prior Authorization, Risk Adjustment, Care management, Utilization Management, etc.
· Understand the impact of related domains like pharmacy on healthcare.
Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with engineering, product, and clinical domain teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Prepare documentation and present findings and model insights in a clear, business-friendly manner.
Support PoCs, solution demos, and client deliverables as required.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
· Strong academic grounding in statistics, probability, and machine learning.
· Strong proficiency in Python and common ML libraries (Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
· Exposure to the healthcare domain
· Experience with SQL/Postgress for data querying and manipulation.
· Exposure to Azure, Databricks, or any cloud-based ML platforms is a plus.
· Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker is preferred
· Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
· High ownership, curiosity, and a continuous learning mindset.

No
