Technical Sales Executive

Role Description This full-time Technical Sales Executive role is based in Mumbai in a hybrid work model, with a mix of on-site customer visits and office work, plus some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing existing customer relationships, and promoting SOMA’s flexographic printing presses and converting equipment to industrial and packaging clients. The Technical Sales Executive will conduct product demonstrations, prepare and deliver technical presentations, and translate customer requirements into tailored solutions in close coordination with the technical and engineering teams. Daily responsibilities include preparing proposals and quotations, negotiating pricing and contract terms within company guidelines, and tracking sales activities in CRM tools. The role also requires regular market research, participation in trade shows or industry events, and providing feedback to internal teams on customer needs, competitive trends, and product improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain industrial machinery, printing technologies, or converting equipment.
Proven experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development, ideally within packaging, printing, or related manufacturing industries.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage decision-makers and technical stakeholders.
Ability to build long-term customer relationships, actively listen, and tailor solutions to individual client needs.
Comfort with hybrid work, including on-site customer meetings in Mumbai and regional travel as required.
Proficiency with CRM systems, MS Office tools, and basic data analysis for reporting and sales forecasting.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Printing Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a self-driven approach to meeting sales targets and deadlines.
Professional fluency in English; additional regional languages are an advantage.
Prior experience working with European or global manufacturers and familiarity with international business practices is beneficial.
