Job Description
What this job involves
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage the financial accounting and reporting activities for a portfolio of properties. This role requires strong expertise in General Ledger accounting, financial reporting, cash management, and stakeholder coordination to ensure accurate and timely financial results.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly financial statements for an assigned portfolio of properties, including General Ledger month-end close activities, budget versus actual variance analysis, cash management, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Maintain complete and accurate supporting documentation and ensure proper archival of records for audit and compliance purposes.
Process vendor payments in accordance with established payment schedules while ensuring strict adherence to JLL's payment authorization policies and controls.
Collaborate with the accounting team to complete manual journal entries and adjustments before month-end close.
Deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality property financial statements in line with internal Client Accounting Services deadlines and external client reporting requirements.
Prepare detailed account reconciliations and supporting schedules required to substantiate account balances and support management and owner reporting.
Provide JDE financial system support to site teams and accounting stakeholders through email and telephone communications.
Submit financial statements, reconciliations, and workpapers in a complete, review-ready format within established timelines.
Manage cash activities for assigned properties, including reviewing client bank statements, monitoring cash positions, and ensuring tenant deposits are accurately applied.
Ensure timely completion of bank reconciliations and proactively investigate and resolve outstanding checks and other reconciling items on a monthly basis.
Coordinate monthly funding requirements with clients to ensure adequate cash is available for operational payments and client distributions.
Lead the coordination and organization of year-end audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Maintain a working knowledge of mortgage agreements, management agreements, and other contractual obligations applicable to assigned properties.
Continuously develop expertise in real estate accounting practices, financial systems, and industry requirements.
Employee Specifications
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
CA Inter, MBA (Finance), M.Com, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
Experience
Minimum 6-7 years of experience in Operational Finance, General Ledger Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Record-to-Report (R2R) processes.
Strong understanding of Profit & Loss analysis, Balance Sheet reviews, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
Experience in Real Estate or Property Accounting will be an added advantage.
