Position: Lawyer
Type: Hourly contract
Compensation: $80-$180/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10-40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
Review sample contracts and legal documents to assess clarity, enforceability, and potential legal risks.
Identify and flag problematic clauses, providing detailed written analysis and recommendations.
Draft concise legal memos summarizing findings, key risk areas, and suggested improvements.
Conduct legal research using publicly available sources to support document reviews and recommendations.
Explain complex legal concepts in clear, accessible language for non-lawyer audiences.
Follow confidentiality and conflict-of-interest protocols while working exclusively with public or synthetic data.
Provide structured legal feedback to support AI model training and evaluation of legal reasoning capabilities.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree with active or lapsed bar membership in a U.S. jurisdiction.
Strong experience in document-intensive legal work, including contracts, compliance, or transactions.
Demonstrated expertise in legal document drafting, contract review, and risk assessment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to legal research and analysis.
Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practices, and effective conflict-of-interest management.
Familiarity with legal technology, AI, or legal operations is preferred.
