Grafana - Expert Observability Engineer

We’re looking for an Expert Observability Engineer with deep expertise in Grafana Cloud to help shape and scale our enterprise observability capabilities.
This is more than a dashboard-building role. We’re looking for someone who understands observability as an engineering capability, combining deep technical expertise with architecture, automation, SRE practices, governance, and the ability to influence engineering teams.
Responsibilities & Deliverables
Architect and scale Grafana Cloud across a complex enterprise environment
Design observability patterns across metrics, logs, traces, alerting, dashboards, and synthetic monitoring
Drive OpenTelemetry instrumentation and adoption
Build reusable onboarding patterns and automation using Terraform, APIs, Git, and CI/CD
Define scalable approaches to RBAC/LBAC, tenancy, ownership, tagging, and governance
Help teams establish SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and service-health practices
Improve alert quality and integration with incident-management processes
Optimize telemetry consumption and observability costs
Mentor engineers and help drive observability maturity across product and platform teams

Grafana / Grafana Cloud
OpenTelemetry
Metrics, logs and distributed tracing
Prometheus and Loki concepts
Kubernetes, microservices and cloud-native environments
Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
SRE practices, SLIs/SLOs and service health
Observability architecture and platform governance
Automation, APIs, Git and CI/CD
Compensation: 112 - 130k
