PRINCIPAL / HEAD OF SCHOOL – IB

TantraEdu is recruiting on behalf of a client school in Pune offering both IB and Cambridge programmes.
We are looking for an experienced and inspiring IB education leader to join our senior leadership team as Principal / Head of School – IB.
This is a leadership role for an educator who combines strong IB expertise, instructional leadership, people development and execution with the ability to build a positive, ambitious and collaborative school culture.
The Role
The Principal / Head of School – IB will have overall academic and administrative leadership of the IB programme and will be responsible for:
• IB programme quality, development and implementation
• Teaching and learning excellence
• Curriculum planning and academic standards
• Student achievement, progress and interventions
• Assessment and academic reporting
• Faculty leadership, mentoring and professional development
• IB authorization/evaluation and compliance
• Academic planning and effective execution
• Parent engagement and communication around the IB programme
• Student wellbeing and experience within the programme
• Building a strong culture of collaboration, accountability and professional growth
Beyond the IB Programme
The role will include active participation in:
• Whole-school events and celebrations
• School improvement initiatives
• Student experience and wellbeing
• Staff culture and engagement
• Parent and community engagement
• Cross-programme collaboration
• School-wide strategic initiatives
Ambassador for IB & the School
The Principal will be an ambassador for both the school and its IB programme. We expect the successful candidate to actively build the school's visibility and credibility within the wider IB and international education community through professional networks, conferences, collaborations, professional learning and meaningful engagement with other IB schools.
We are looking for someone who:
✓ Has significant leadership experience in an IB school
✓ Has served as a Head of School or Principal
✓ Has a strong understanding of IB philosophy and pedagogy
✓ Is an instructional leader who can develop teachers and academic leaders
✓ Has demonstrated experience in improving student outcomes
✓ Is highly organised, proactive and accountable
✓ Communicates with confidence, warmth and professionalism
✓ Can lead change while maintaining stability and trust
✓ Is comfortable working in a multicultural and internationally oriented environment
International / expat candidates with substantial international-school leadership experience are also encouraged to apply.
