Data Scientist / Senior Data Scientist

Role Description
The Data Scientist / Senior Data Scientist applies statistical analysis and machine learning to solve business problems and support data-driven decisions. The role involves preparing and exploring data, developing predictive models, designing experiments, and translating findings into actionable insights.
The successful candidate will collaborate with product, engineering, analytics, and business teams to define problems, validate solutions, and measure their impact. Senior responsibilities may include leading complex projects, setting analytical standards, mentoring colleagues, and guiding model deployment and monitoring.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, data science, economics, or a related quantitative field; an advanced degree is an advantage.
Relevant experience in data science, statistical modeling, machine learning, or advanced analytics.
For senior positions, demonstrated experience leading complex projects and delivering measurable business outcomes.
Proficiency in Python or R and SQL.
Strong understanding of probability, statistics, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
Experience with data preparation, feature engineering, model selection, and model evaluation.
Familiarity with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
Ability to identify data leakage, overfitting, bias, and limitations in analytical methods.
Experience communicating findings through visualizations, reports, and presentations.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, data pipelines, model deployment, and production monitoring is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to reproducibility, data privacy, and responsible model use.
Clear communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into analytical approaches.
For senior positions, ability to mentor colleagues, review technical work, and explain methodological trade-offs to stakeholders.
