Purpose
This Maintenance Plumber/Pipefitter Technician will inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain piping and plumbing related equipment systems, including sinks, toilets, drains, backflows, fire system maintenance, etc. The technician will work Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repair work in an industrial/commercial setting, including new construction plumbing installation and sprinkler and backflow inspection. In addition, testing, inspecting, and replacing piping and pressure relief devices on production and facility equipment.
Communicate with customers to identify maintenance problems and evaluate the extent of damage/malfunction.
Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues quickly to maintain company time schedules and ensure functionality of equipment.
Provide training to less experienced technicians to ensure efficient and cost-effective work.
Follow good manufacturing practices and safe work policies and procedures, adhering to proper compliance, GxP standards and established company policies.
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Must have an Illinois State Plumber's license
Illinois Backflow tester certified preferred
Knowledge and ability to use basic power tools and ability to apply proper hand and measuring tools in an industrial setting.
HS diploma with 5+ yrs. experience or Relevant Certificate with 3+ yrs. experience or Associates technical degree with 1+ yrs. experience.
