Marshalls Civils & Drainage, part of our building products division, partners with customers to design, engineer and manufacture precast & reinforced concrete solutions that support critical infrastructure and civil engineering projects UK wide. As part of our commitment to the evolution of both our products and position as a leading supplier of innovative solutions to the UK water and drainage infrastructure industry we have a brand-new opportunity for a Civil Engineering CAD Team Leader available for internal applications in our Design & Engineering team.
So what's the mission?
Lead the team responsible for the design, specification and technical support of the Marshalls Sealed Manhole system within the wider Water Management products and solutions division with an exposure to Linear Drainage and specialist products. Take ownership of day-to-day team performance, resource planning, and customer service, ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time. Help to lead technical support and develop team capability and training.
What are the mission-critical skills?
This is an opportunity to expand on your experiences and develop your career. We think this role would be suited to someone who has;
Qualified to Level 3 (or equivalent) in a civil engineering related subject
Experience of working in a design and technical environment (consultancy, D&B contractor, or a building products design & manufacturing business)
Experience of leading a technical team, including workload management, training, objective setting and performance support
Able to work within industry design standards and codes
Proficient in the use of 2D CAD and ideally Solidworks to produce digital models
Experience in material take-offs and drawing / specification reviews
Detailed knowledge of sealed manholes, drainage or water management systems and their applications would be an advantage
Able to plan resources, manage competing priorities and maintain high standards under demanding deadlines
Clear and influential communicator who can build effective relationships with colleagues and customers
Previous experience in the detailing of pre-cast concrete products and structures would be a distinct advantage
Ability to communicate and build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
Experience in process improvement, standardisation or introducing design tools and controls would be beneficial
