Job Description
Role Summary:
The Senior Manager – Card Benefit Partner Development role will support execution of Visa’s U.S. card benefits strategy by helping identify, evaluate, and advance partnership opportunities across key categories. The successful candidate will provide analytical, research, and process-management support for partner-sourcing efforts designed to create differentiated card benefits for Visa’s issuing clients. Focus categories include retail, subscription services, health and wellness, and travel, with benefit constructs such as upgraded experiences, premium status in loyalty programs, and complimentary services from in-demand providers. This role will support business development activities by conducting market and partner research, preparing data-driven analyses and business cases, coordinating outreach materials, tracking pipeline progress, and helping manage internal processes related to deal development and contracting. The role requires close engagement with product platform teams, key vendors, and cross-functional partners across Marketing, Sales, Finance, Legal, Sourcing, and Client Management. This position will be based in Visa’s San Francisco or Foster City office.
All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development of partnership strategies by vertical and consumer passion area through market research, competitive analysis, and partner landscape assessments.
Assist with prospective partner evaluation and outreach preparation, including research, briefing materials, partner profiles, and coordination with Visa’s merchant relations teams where appropriate.
Support deal development by preparing data analyses, business cases, benefit construct comparisons, user experience considerations, and commercial inputs for internal review.
Coordinate cross-functional inputs and workstreams with internal partners across Marketing, Sales, Sponsorships, Sourcing, Legal, Finance, and Client Management.
Manage partnership development processes, including pipeline tracking, meeting follow-ups, documentation, timelines, approvals, and handoffs to partner management teams.
Support advisory engagements with financial institution and cobrand clients by contributing research, analysis, presentation materials, and product-level benefit strategy recommendations.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
Experience in roles such as product manager, product owner, business process analyst, or sales operations.
Experience in applying Agile principles across design, development, testing, and product management.
Experience in developing software capabilities to support sales, service, or customer relationship management functions.
Experience in multi-tasking, organizing, managing, and implementing complex projects directly or through supervision.
Experience in cross-functional collaboration with systems, marketing, and sales teams.
Agile certifications such as CSM and CSPO, or their equivalent.
Experience in identifying, assessing, and managing tradeoffs in product development.
Experience in identifying points of failure and formulating error-handling approaches for product resiliency.
Information for US Applicants
For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $180,600.00 to $ 289,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Travel Requirements
This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
