Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Script Writer role based in Chennai. The Script Writer will develop clear, engaging scripts for video content, including brand films, explainer videos, social media content, and other digital formats. Daily responsibilities include brainstorming concepts with creative and production teams, outlining narratives, writing and revising scripts, and adapting content to different audiences and platforms. The role involves collaborating closely with directors, editors, and producers to align scripts with visual treatment and project goals, as well as incorporating feedback to refine storylines and dialogue. The Script Writer will also support pre-production by preparing script breakdowns, ensuring scripts are production-ready, and maintaining consistency in tone and messaging across projects.
Qualifications
Strong scriptwriting, scripting, and general writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging narratives for video.
Experience developing screenplays and structured storylines, including character development, pacing, and dialogue.
Familiarity with video production workflows, collaborating with directors, producers, and editors to align scripts with visual and technical requirements.
Ability to research topics, understand brand objectives, and adapt writing style to different formats and target audiences.
Excellent command of English, strong attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Comfort working on-site in Chennai and collaborating with cross-functional creative teams.
Prior experience in advertising, digital media, or film production is an advantage.
Relevant education in Film, Media, Communications, Literature, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
