Role Description The Vice President of Product Operations is a full-time, remote leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end product operations framework across Impact Gateway Africa’s venture portfolio. This position will drive operational excellence in product development and delivery, standardize processes, and establish metrics that ensure products are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with market needs. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with founders and internal teams to design and refine product roadmaps, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, and implementing best practices in product lifecycle management. The role will also oversee programmatic support for ventures, streamline project execution, and use data-driven insights to inform strategy and resource allocation. The Vice President will mentor product teams, build operational playbooks, and contribute to the overall growth strategy of the platform.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in Product Operations, including building and optimizing product processes, workflows, and performance metrics.
Demonstrated experience in Product Management, guiding product strategy, roadmapping, and lifecycle management from concept to scale.
Proficiency in Project Management, with a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering complex projects on time and within scope.
Experience in Program Management, managing multiple ventures or product streams, and aligning them with organizational goals and impact targets.
Advanced Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, KPI development, and using insights to drive operational and strategic decisions.
Proven leadership experience in high-growth or startup environments, ideally within emerging markets or impact-focused organizations.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills across diverse, remote teams.
Ability to operate effectively in a fully remote, distributed setting and to work across multiple time zones.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
Experience working with African markets, venture support platforms, or impact investing is highly beneficial.
