Manager of Inspections

This position is a Manager of Inspections within the Building Department, under the direction of the Building Official or supervisor. This class is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of 7-13 Commercial & Residential Inspectors, inspection volume, training, licensing and all investigations and complaints for the Building Codes & Inspections Division. The purpose of the class is to manage and perform complex, technical & investigative work that is related to code violations, illegal contractors, contract disputes and etc.; maintaining records; providing courteous and professional customer service at all times; following through on investigations to include summons and court appearances and performing related duties as assigned. The class works within a broad outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under limited supervision. This Position will assist in conducting inspections operations and plan review for residential and commercial inspections as needed; responsible for comprehensive inspection and reports for new and existing buildings designs & components; and able to provide inspections for commercial, and residential, to ensure compliance with all applicable County-approved plans, specifications, codes and standards.
