Accountant

Here at Home Healthcare is a locally owned in-home care agency in Chesterfield. We compassionately support clients and their families at home across the St. Louis area, with companionship, personal care, and recovery support. We're looking for a Missouri-based accountant to take over our books on a contract basis.
You'll work directly with our owners, and with our General Manager once that role is filled.
What you'll do
Close our books in QuickBooks Online each month, including bank and credit card reconciliations
Prepare a monthly profit and loss statement and walk the owners through it
Follow up on client invoices and open balances
Review payroll in Gusto before each twice-monthly run
Check that our federal and Missouri payroll tax filings are complete and correct
What you bring
3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting for small businesses
Strong QuickBooks Online skills
Payroll experience with Gusto or a similar platform
Missouri residency
A clean criminal background (a background check is part of hiring)
Nice to have
Home care or healthcare billing experience
A CPA or EA credential
Experience preparing S corporation returns (Form 1120-S)
The details
Independent contractor (1099), about 10 to 15 hours a month to start
$35 to $45 an hour
Remote, Missouri-based
You set your own schedule around agreed monthly deadlines
