About the Role
The Vice President of Product Management will lead the company’s product strategy, portfolio direction, and product management organization. This executive will ensure that product initiatives align with business objectives, address customer needs, and create sustainable competitive advantages.
The role is responsible for defining product priorities, establishing product development frameworks, overseeing roadmaps, and coordinating execution across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Operations. The VP of Product Management will translate market insights and business opportunities into clear product strategies while ensuring that product decisions support customer value, commercial performance, and long-term growth.
The ideal candidate brings extensive product leadership experience, strong business judgment, and the ability to establish product direction, build high-performing teams, and guide products from early-stage planning through launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Product Strategy & Vision
Define and communicate the company’s product vision, strategy, and long-term priorities.
Align product initiatives with business objectives, customer needs, and market opportunities.
Evaluate competitive dynamics, emerging trends, and customer insights to identify product opportunities.
Establish decision-making frameworks for prioritizing product investments and initiatives.
Product Roadmap & Portfolio Management
Develop and maintain product roadmaps that balance strategic priorities, customer requirements, and available resources.
Prioritize features, enhancements, and new product initiatives based on business value and customer impact.
Oversee the product portfolio and ensure clear ownership across product lines.
Adjust product priorities in response to market changes, performance insights, and evolving business needs.
Product Development & Delivery
Partner with Engineering, Design, and other teams to translate product strategies into actionable requirements.
Establish product planning, development, review, and launch processes.
Ensure product requirements, objectives, and success criteria are clearly defined.
Monitor delivery progress, resolve prioritization conflicts, and support effective execution.
Customer & Market Insights
Develop a strong understanding of customer needs, user behavior, and market expectations.
Establish processes for gathering and evaluating customer feedback, research, and product usage data.
Identify gaps in existing offerings and opportunities for product improvement or expansion.
Ensure customer insights inform product decisions and ongoing development priorities.
Product Performance & Commercial Outcomes
Establish key performance indicators for product adoption, engagement, customer satisfaction, and business impact.
Evaluate product performance and identify opportunities to improve usability, value, and effectiveness.
Work with Sales, Marketing, and Business Development to support product positioning, launches, and adoption.
Ensure product initiatives contribute to measurable business outcomes and long-term customer value.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Coordinate with Engineering, Technology, Design, Marketing, Sales, Customer Experience, Operations, and other functions.
Establish clear communication and decision-making processes across product development teams.
Resolve competing priorities and dependencies that affect product delivery.
Ensure stakeholders share a common understanding of product goals, requirements, and success measures.
Product Organization & Team Development
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing product management organization.
Establish clear roles, responsibilities, product ownership, and performance expectations.
Coach product leaders and managers in strategy development, prioritization, and execution.
Foster a culture of customer focus, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Executive Leadership & Governance
Present product strategies, roadmaps, performance results, and investment recommendations to senior leadership.
Provide independent recommendations on product opportunities, priorities, and resource allocation.
Establish product governance processes that support consistent decision-making and execution.
Take accountability for product direction, organizational effectiveness, and measurable product outcomes.
Qualifications
Extensive leadership experience in product management, product strategy, product development, or a related function.
Proven ability to define and execute product strategies aligned with business objectives.
Demonstrated experience managing product roadmaps, portfolios, and competing development priorities.
Strong understanding of product discovery, requirements development, prioritization, launch planning, and lifecycle management.
Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing product management teams.
Proven ability to translate customer needs, market research, and competitive insights into product opportunities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and performance metrics to guide decisions.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Operations.
Experience establishing product management processes, operating standards, and performance measurement frameworks.
Strong understanding of customer experience, product adoption, market positioning, and commercial value creation.
Excellent executive communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
Strong strategic thinking, business judgment, and independent decision-making capabilities.
Ability to manage ambiguity, resolve complex trade-offs, and adapt product direction as business needs evolve.
Ability to balance long-term product vision with hands-on execution and accountability for results.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Product Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; an advanced degree is a plus.

Compensation Range
Base Salary: To be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and overall compensation structure.
Additional compensation may include performance-based annual incentives, executive bonus opportunities, and/or equity-based compensation, depending on the overall compensation structure.
