Senior Accountant
Current Health · Remote (US) · Full-time
Senior Accountant with a billing and revenue focus at a fast-growing healthcare technology company. Fully remote. Small finance team that actually builds things.
ABOUT CURRENT HEALTH
We build the infrastructure that lets health systems deliver advanced therapies — CAR-T, bispecifics, and other complex cancer treatments — safely outside the hospital. Our platform combines remote monitoring, connected devices, logistics, and a 24/7 Clinical Command Center, and we partner with leading providers and pharma companies on care delivery, clinical trials, and real-world evidence. We've supported more than 100,000 patients, and the therapies we enable are among the fastest-growing in medicine. We're ~125 people across the US and UK, and we're building the finance function to match.
WHY THIS ROLE
Most senior accountant jobs hand you a slice of a process someone else built. This one hands you a whole function and a seat at the table for the rest.
You'll own billing, AR, and revenue accounting end to end. You'll work directly with the VP of Finance and CFO. Your numbers will show up in board and investor materials. And you'll build the processes and automation that become the way we do things.
You'll get revenue accounting experience most people don't see until they're a manager, and a mission that matters: helping cancer patients get advanced therapies at home.
If you want variety, real ownership, and a path toward broader accounting leadership — and you'd rather build than maintain — this is that seat.
THE ROLE
This is a Senior Accountant role on a small finance team, with billing and revenue as your home base.
About 60% of your time is contract-to-cash: getting invoices out accurately and on time, managing collections, and running monthly revenue recognition under ASC 606 on contracts that combine software, hardware, clinical services, and logistics with upfront, recurring, and usage-based billing.
The other 40% is the rest of the function: close, forecasting, audits, systems, and whatever the business needs most that month.
We're looking for a strong all-around accountant — smart, hungry, hands-on — who wants more responsibility than a big company will give them. Not a narrow specialist, and not a head-of-revenue role.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN — BILLING & REVENUE (~60%)
• Prepare and issue customer invoices from contract terms, POs, and usage data; own the billing calendar
• Own AR: cash application, collections, customer billing questions, and monthly aging/DSO reporting
• Read contracts and SOWs, understand the billing mechanics, and translate them into billing and revenue schedules — flagging anything unusual for review
• Run monthly revenue recognition, including deferred and unbilled revenue schedules, entries, and reconciliations
• Maintain the revenue forecast by customer and revenue stream and explain variances
WHAT YOU'LL SUPPORT — THE BROADER FUNCTION (~40%)
• Own pieces of the monthly close across the P&L and balance sheet — reconciliations, accruals, flux — and back up teammates on AP and other areas
• Help with budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for leadership and the board
• Support audits, tax filings, diligence requests, and R&D / capitalized software accounting
• Improve how we work: spot manual, messy processes and make them faster, cleaner, and more automated — including with AI tools
• Take on ad hoc finance and operations projects as priorities shift; in a company our size, everyone pitches in
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 3–6 years of accounting experience with hands-on billing and AR, plus exposure to close, reporting, or FP&A
• Working knowledge of ASC 606 — comfortable with deferred/unbilled revenue and monthly rev rec on multi-element contracts
• Able to interpret contracts and SOWs and know when something needs to be escalated
• Startup or scale-up experience strongly preferred — you've worn multiple hats and built things from scratch
• Strong Excel and a systems mindset; you instinctively want to fix and automate what's manual
• Happy doing the day-to-day work — getting invoices out, chasing payments, untangling billing issues — and taking pride in doing it well
• Self-directed, reliable on deadlines, and comfortable working directly with customers and cross-functional teams
• A fast learner who asks good questions and owns the outcome, not just the task
Nice to have: CPA or CPA-track; healthcare, health system, or life sciences customer experience; cloud GL and billing tools.
WHAT WE OFFER
• Fully remote, US-based
• Competitive salary, equity, and benefits
• Ownership of a complete function from day one, reporting to the VP of Finance
• A direct line to leadership and work that matters
