Role Description The Freight Broker role at Aeroway Transportation is a full-time, on-site position based in the Mohali district. The Freight Broker will source and qualify carriers, negotiate rates, and match customer freight with available capacity to ensure timely and cost-effective shipments. Daily responsibilities include coordinating dispatch activities, tracking loads, resolving transit issues, and maintaining clear communication with carriers and shippers. The role also involves managing customer accounts, building long-term relationships, preparing quotes, and updating transportation management systems with accurate load and billing information. The Freight Broker collaborates closely with the operations team to support service quality and adherence to company standards.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage to source carriers, negotiate rates, and manage load bookings.
Candidates should possess effective Customer Service and Account Management skills to build relationships, handle inquiries, and support shipper and carrier satisfaction.
Candidates should possess Dispatching skills to coordinate pickups and deliveries, monitor load status, and address route or schedule changes.
Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple shipments, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with transportation management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, CRM tools).
Previous experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation operations is preferred.
Relevant education in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field is beneficial, though equivalent practical experience is also valued.
