Chief Data Officer

Role Description The Chief Data Officer (CDO) is a full-time remote role responsible for defining and leading the organization’s overall data strategy to support business growth and customer experience. The CDO will oversee data governance frameworks, data management policies, and data quality standards across all systems and processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding the collection, integration, and maintenance of data related to tours, customers, operations, and finance; ensuring data is accurate, secure, and accessible to relevant stakeholders. The role involves collaborating with leadership and functional teams to develop data-driven insights that improve product offerings, pricing, marketing effectiveness, and operational efficiency. The CDO will also champion data literacy within the organization, mentoring teams on best practices and promoting ethical, compliant use of data.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in Data Governance and Data Management, with the ability to design and implement policies, standards, and frameworks.
Proficiency in Data Quality management, including data validation, cleansing, monitoring, and continuous improvement of data reliability.
Advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting complex datasets, generating insights, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Experience in Data Science, including statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and using data tools to identify trends and opportunities.
Proven leadership experience in data-focused roles, preferably at a senior or executive level.
Familiarity with travel, tourism, or service-based industries is an advantage.
Experience with modern data platforms, databases, BI tools, and data security practices.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across remote and cross-functional teams.
