Inpatient Medical Coder | $70/hr Remote

Position: Inpatient Coder
Type: Contract
Compensation: $50 - $70/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week
Role Responsibilities
Annotate and review inpatient medical records ensuring precise ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS code assignment.
Identify principal and secondary diagnoses, sequence codes, and validate MS-DRG assignment.
Apply inpatient-specific coding conventions and identify hospital-acquired conditions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure data integrity.
Deliver high-quality feedback on coding guidelines to enhance AI model understanding.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all coding-related annotations.
Requirements
Active AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or AAPC Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) credential.
Thorough expertise in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and MS-DRG methodology with strong relevant experience.
Experience coding in diverse inpatient settings such as acute care and specialty units.
Proficiency in reviewing and coding various types of clinical documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Access to current ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS code sets and MS-DRG grouper tools.
