Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented PHP Developer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of web applications and backend services. Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using PHP.
Write clean, organized, reusable, and maintainable code.
Assist with developing backend functionality and application features.
Work with MySQL or other relational databases to create and maintain data-driven applications.
Integrate web applications with REST APIs and third-party services.
Troubleshoot and resolve application bugs, errors, and performance issues.
Participate in testing and debugging of new and existing application features.
Assist with code reviews and follow established development standards.
Maintain and update technical documentation.
Collaborate with frontend developers, software engineers, designers, and other technical teams.
Assist with application deployments, updates, and ongoing maintenance.
Monitor application functionality and help identify areas for improvement.
Follow version-control and software development procedures.
Participate in Agile development activities when applicable.
Perform other software development duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
0–3 years of experience in PHP development, web development, or a related software development role.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of PHP.
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Understanding of relational databases and SQL.
Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar database systems.
Basic understanding of REST APIs and web application architecture.
Familiarity with Git or other version-control systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to learn new technologies and development frameworks quickly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or another PHP framework.
Familiarity with Composer and PHP package management.
Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming.
Experience working with RESTful APIs and JSON.
Familiarity with GitHub, GitLab, or similar development platforms.
Basic understanding of Linux environments and web servers.
Familiarity with Docker or cloud-based development environments.
Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
Knowledge of automated testing or PHPUnit is a plus.
