Role Description The Freelance Cloud Engineer role at Superfan.ng is a full-time remote position responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure for the platform. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and managing cloud services, optimizing performance, ensuring system reliability, and implementing secure deployment pipelines. The role involves collaborating with software developers to support scalable architectures, managing databases and storage solutions, and monitoring system health and cost efficiency. The Cloud Engineer will also help improve development workflows, automate infrastructure tasks, and contribute to technical documentation and best practices.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Cloud Computing and Infrastructure design, including experience with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Proficiency in Software Development practices, such as scripting, automation, and working with CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on experience with Linux administration, system configuration, and command-line tooling.
Knowledge of Databases, including setup, performance optimization, backups, and security.
Understanding of networking, security best practices, and monitoring/observability tools.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.
Background in edtech, language learning, or culturally focused platforms is a plus.
