Senior Full Stack Engineer, AI

A venture-backed, seed-stage company is applying AI and simulation to the medical device industry, and it needs its first senior full stack engineer. Its founders are recognized leaders in surgical technology research, and the platform helps device makers develop and validate products faster with virtual testing and synthetic data.
What you will do: Build the first release of the browser product and Python developer tooling that customers use to set up experiments, generate data, and review results. Most of your time goes into React, TypeScript, and Next.js, and the rest into Python services (fastAPI), Postgres, and Redis. You start as a hands-on builder and grow into leading the team as engineering expands.
What you bring:
- 5+ years shipping web products used by real customers
- Deep React and TypeScript experience, including Next.js server rendering
- Python API development and solid SQL data modeling with caching
- Strong habits around testing, reviews, and collaborative Git workflows
Bonus points: AI agent or MCP tooling, tools built for research or ML teams, image, video, or 3D interfaces, simulation tooling, containers and cloud, and healthcare data experience.
