About Prox
Prox is a fast-growing grocery savings startup that helps shoppers save money by comparing grocery prices across retailers in real time. We’re building the future of smart grocery shopping, and we’re looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our team.
About the Role
This unpaid internship is designed for students and early-career engineers who want hands-on experience building consumer-facing products. You’ll work directly with the founder and see your work ship to real users.
What You’ll Do
Contribute to front-end and/or back-end development of our consumer platform
Help design and implement new product features for web and mobile
Support data integration projects and improve system performance
Collaborate with the founder on technical problem-solving and product direction
Gain exposure to modern dev tools and workflows used in fast-moving startups
What We’re Looking For
Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end frameworks (React, React Native, Expo)
Interest in backend technologies (APIs, databases, scraping tools)
A problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn quickly
Ability to commit 20–40 hours per week, flexible around school schedules
Southern California location is a plus for optional in-person collaboration, but not required

Pay Range and Compensation
This is an unpaid internship. Academic credit may be available depending on your university’s requirements.
