Role Description The Senior Joinery Draftsman – AutoCAD 2D will be responsible for preparing detailed 2D shop drawings and fabrication drawings for custom joinery and interior fit-out works. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting architectural and designer drawings, developing complete joinery details, coordinating with project managers and production teams, and updating drawings based on technical or client feedback. The role involves checking dimensions and materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining organized drawing documentation for projects. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, working closely with cross-functional teams to support smooth production and installation.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D for joinery and interior detailing, including shop and fabrication drawings.
Solid understanding of joinery construction methods, materials (wood, laminates, hardware), and production processes.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and interior design drawings and convert them to detailed joinery layouts.
Experience coordinating with design, production, and site teams, including handling revisions and technical clarifications.
Attention to detail, accuracy in dimensions, and good documentation and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Relevant experience in interior fit-out or furniture manufacturing; prior senior drafting experience is strongly preferred.
Diploma or degree in Civil/Architecture/Interior Design or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with additional drafting or visualization tools (e.g., basic 3D, MS Office) is an advantage.
