Role Description The Cluster Head role is a full-time on-site position based in Lucknow, responsible for overseeing business operations and performance across a defined cluster of territories. The Cluster Head will lead and support field teams, drive merchant acquisition and activation, and ensure effective implementation of airpay vyaapaar services at local stores. Daily activities include monitoring sales and service targets, reviewing performance metrics, conducting market visits, and addressing operational issues. The role involves coordinating with internal departments for onboarding, training, and compliance, while maintaining strong relationships with partners and stakeholders. The Cluster Head will also identify growth opportunities, implement local strategies to increase adoption of financial services, and provide regular reporting and insights to senior management.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of sales and business development in retail or financial services, with experience managing multiple locations or territories.
Proven team leadership and people management skills, including mentoring, performance monitoring, and field team coordination.
Ability to analyze data and performance reports, draw insights, and implement corrective action plans to meet business targets.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work with merchants, local partners, and cross-functional internal teams.
Understanding of basic banking and financial services, ideally within fintech, digital payments, or financial inclusion initiatives.
Comfort with technology and mobile applications used for onboarding, transaction monitoring, and reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Management, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
Previous experience in cluster or area management, preferably within FMCG, payments, microfinance, or related sectors.
Ability to work on-site in Lucknow, conduct extensive field travel within the cluster, and adapt to dynamic market conditions.
