NBPA Certified Agent/President of Basketball

About the role
Impact Sports Agency is hiring an NBPA Certified Agent/President of Basketball to represent professional basketball players in contract negotiations, career planning, and marketing. You will build and manage a client roster, negotiate NBA and international contracts, and help grow the agency's basketball division.
This role suits an agent who already has NBA clients or deep relationships across front offices, coaching staffs, and the player development pipeline. Holding a current NBPA certification is mandatory.

Responsibilities
Negotiate NBA player contracts, including rookie scale, veteran, two-way, Exhibit 10, and extension deals, within the current CBA
Recruit and sign NBA, G League, international, and draft-eligible players in line with NBPA agent regulations
Manage draft preparation for clients: pre-draft workouts, combine strategy, team interviews, and medical coordination
Build and maintain relationships with NBA general managers, assistant GMs, scouts, and capologists
Track the salary cap, luxury tax, apron rules, and team roster needs to position clients for opportunities
Pursue international opportunities with EuroLeague, NBL, CBA, and other overseas clubs when appropriate
Coordinate with the agency's marketing team on endorsements, NIL-to-pro transitions, and brand partnerships
Advise clients on career decisions, including free agency timing, trades, options, and contract structure
Work with financial advisors, attorneys, trainers, and families to support each client's full career plan
Keep all client agreements, fee arrangements, and filings compliant with NBPA rules and state athlete-agent laws
Required qualifications
Current NBPA agent certification, in good standing. Candidates without an active NBPA certification will not be considered.
Registration as an athlete agent in the states where you recruit, as required by law
Working knowledge of the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, salary cap mechanics, and contract types
Proven negotiation skills and a record of closing professional contracts
Strong judgment, discretion, and ethics in handling confidential client and team information
Ability to travel frequently, including nights, weekends, and the NBA Draft, Summer League, and combine
Bachelor's degree (required for NBPA certification); a JD, MBA, or related graduate degree is a plus
Preferred qualifications
An existing roster of NBA clients you would bring to Impact Sports Agency, or a strong network that can be converted into signed clients
Established relationships with NBA and G League front offices, college coaching staffs, AAU programs, and international clubs
Prior experience at a sports agency, NBA team, or in college or professional basketball operations
A track record of negotiated deals, including second contracts, extensions, or free-agent signings
Experience guiding players through the NBA Draft process
Familiarity with international contracts, FIBA rules, and buyout provisions
Experience transitioning college athletes from NIL deals into professional representation
Bilingual skills (Spanish, French, or another language common among international players) are a plus
