Role Description The Skecher at Tayyaba Embroidery is responsible for creating and outlining embroidery sketches, patterns, and design guides that will be used for stitching and production. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting design briefs, drawing accurate sketches on fabric or templates, planning stitch types and color combinations, and ensuring designs align with client requirements and production capabilities. The role involves collaborating with designers and production staff to adjust patterns for different fabrics, sizes, and techniques, while maintaining high quality and detail. The Skecher documents measurements and layout details, reviews sample pieces, and recommends improvements to optimize clarity and efficiency for the embroidery team. This is a contract role and is performed remotely, requiring reliable communication with the team and timely delivery of sketches and related documentation.
Qualifications
Strong sketching and drawing abilities, with experience in creating detailed patterns and design layouts for textiles or garments.
Knowledge of embroidery techniques, stitch types, and fabric behavior, with the ability to adapt designs to different materials.
Ability to interpret client briefs and translate concepts into clear visual designs and technical guidelines.
Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements, placement, and color coordination for production-ready designs.
Proficiency with basic design tools (digital or manual), and willingness to learn any embroidery-related software used by the team.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with remote designers, production staff, and clients.
Reliable time management and organization skills to handle multiple projects and meet contract deadlines.
Prior experience in embroidery, fashion design, textile design, or a related craft field is preferred but not strictly required.
