Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Jumbo Operator based in Udaipur. The Jumbo Operator will be responsible for operating jumbo drilling equipment in underground mining environments to execute drilling patterns as per design and production plans. Daily tasks include setting up and positioning equipment, monitoring drilling parameters, handling basic maintenance and cleaning of the jumbo, and reporting any mechanical issues to the maintenance team. The role involves working closely with shift supervisors, surveyors, and safety personnel to ensure compliance with safety procedures, ventilation requirements, and ground support installation. The Jumbo Operator will also maintain accurate records of drilled meters, consumables used, and assist in training and guiding support staff as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong operational skills in jumbo drilling equipment and familiarity with underground mining methods.
Candidates should possess practical knowledge of machine maintenance, troubleshooting minor mechanical issues, and safe use of tools.
Candidates should possess a solid understanding of mine safety regulations, hazard identification, and emergency procedures.
Candidates should possess basic numerical and reading skills for interpreting drilling plans, layout drawings, and technical instructions.
Candidates should possess good physical fitness, the ability to work in confined underground conditions, and willingness to work in rotational shifts.
Previous experience as a Jumbo Operator or in underground drilling operations is highly beneficial.
A relevant technical diploma or trade certification in mining, mechanical, or related fields is an advantage.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, follow instructions from supervisors, and maintain clear communication on site.
