Coordinator of Volunteers

Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time, remote role responsible for organizing, supporting, and enhancing volunteer engagement across Great Opportunities’ programs and initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include recruiting and onboarding volunteers, scheduling and tracking volunteer activities, and providing clear guidance and resources to support their work. The coordinator will design and deliver volunteer training, maintain accurate records, and ensure volunteers understand organizational goals and expectations. This role also involves conducting community outreach to build partnerships, promoting volunteer opportunities through digital channels, and regularly communicating with volunteers to address questions, share updates, and recognize contributions. The Coordinator of Volunteers collaborates with internal teams to align volunteer efforts with program needs and improve the overall volunteer experience.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training skills to effectively recruit, onboard, and support volunteers.
Candidates should possess excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build relationships, provide guidance, and maintain clear, respectful dialogue with diverse stakeholders.
Candidates should possess Community Outreach experience to engage external partners, promote opportunities, and expand the volunteer network.
Experience coordinating volunteers or working in nonprofit, community, or service-oriented environments is beneficial.
Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills, including comfort with basic office software and remote collaboration tools.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to evolving program needs.
