About PedalStart
At PedalStart, we run a sector-agnostic early-stage startup accelerator fund. We typically write $100-150k cheques across domains and actively invest in up rounds; we also help founders close Seed and Series A rounds with our VCs and family offices network. We support founders and back them from ideation. Our mission is to empower founders with the resources and expertise necessary for sustainable rapid scaling.
Role Overview
We are seeking an energetic, articulate, and persistent Business Development Associate to own the first conversation with prospective members of PedalInvest Club, our invite-only angel investor club. In this role, you will call HNIs, professionals, and first-time angel investors who have expressed interest in the club, understand their background and intent, and schedule qualified prospects for a detailed discussion with our investor relations team. Your primary focus will be fast, high-quality lead follow-up and converting interest into scheduled conversations.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the first point of contact for inbound leads who have shown interest in PedalInvest Club.
• Call new leads promptly, introduce PedalStart and the club, and understand their background and investing intent.
• Schedule introductory calls between qualified prospects and the investor relations team, taking full ownership of each lead from first contact until the call takes place.
• Follow up consistently with leads who are unresponsive or undecided.
• Maintain accurate call notes and lead status in the CRM, and share feedback on lead quality with the team.
• Represent the club accurately and responsibly in every conversation
Candidate Qualifications & Skill Requirements
• Background: 0 to 1 year of experience in Inside Sales, Pre-Sales, Tele-calling, or Lead Qualification. Fresh graduates with strong communication skills are welcome; internship or work exposure in fintech, wealth management, insurance, real estate, or edtech is a plus.
• Communication Mastery: Excellent spoken English and Hindi with a confident, polished phone presence; able to explain an investment offering simply without sounding scripted.
• Listening & Qualification: Ability to ask the right questions, read intent quickly, and separate serious prospects from casual enquiries.
• Persistence & Discipline: Comfortable with high call volumes, structured follow-ups, and hearing "not now" without losing momentum.
• Adaptability & Learning Agility: Strong appetite to learn startup investing fundamentals and angel investing terminology.
• Execution Focus: Self-driven and target-oriented, with strong CRM hygiene and the discipline to meet daily call and scheduling targets.
• Work Schedule: Comfortable working 6 days a week, on-site.
