Coordinator of Volunteers

Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time remote role responsible for organizing, supporting, and engaging volunteers who contribute to Great Opportunities’ mission. This role involves recruiting volunteers, onboarding them to programs and initiatives, and providing ongoing guidance to ensure they understand their responsibilities and have a positive experience. The coordinator will schedule and track volunteer assignments, facilitate communication between volunteers and internal teams, and maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and activities. Day-to-day tasks include developing and updating training materials, coordinating virtual orientations, responding to volunteer inquiries, and supporting community outreach campaigns that promote volunteer opportunities. The role also includes monitoring volunteer feedback, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance volunteer programs and engagement strategies.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training to coordinate, onboard, and support volunteers effectively.
Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, provide clear information, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Candidates should possess experience or interest in Community Outreach to help promote volunteer opportunities and engage audiences across different channels.
Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools and basic proficiency with office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, videoconferencing) is beneficial.
Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple volunteer schedules and priorities in a remote environment.
Prior experience coordinating volunteers, working in nonprofit, community, or talent-focused organizations is a plus.
