About the Role
The team is seeking a Full Stack JavaScript Developer to build and maintain applications across front-end and back-end systems. The role focuses on the Profound.js platform, which enables legacy IBM i (AS400) applications to support modern web interfaces, APIs, and integrations without replacing the underlying business functionality.
You’ll work with JavaScript, Node.js, backend databases, and cloud deployment pipelines to develop and enhance enterprise applications. This position is fully remote, with the ability to work Eastern Time (EST) hours required.
Key Responsibilities
•Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using the Profound.js platform.
•Build modern web applications and user interfaces that integrate with legacy IBM i (AS400) systems.
•Develop backend services, APIs, and business logic using JavaScript, Node.js, and Express.js.
•Create and maintain integrations between front-end applications and enterprise backend systems.
•Work with UI, API, and platform teams to deliver scalable business solutions.
•Support Azure-based CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment environments.
•Contribute to application modernization efforts while preserving essential business logic.
•Troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify improvements to application architecture and development processes.
•Research emerging technologies and recommend practical enhancements to existing systems.
•Use AI-assisted development and testing tools to support code quality and development efficiency.
•Collaborate with offshore and distributed teams on application delivery and ongoing enhancements.
Required Qualifications
•At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
•At least 3 years of hands-on JavaScript experience building full-stack applications.
•Experience developing backend services and APIs using Node.js.
•Experience working with backend databases and data integrations; AS400 is preferred, while Oracle and SQL experience will also be considered.
•Experience using Git with cloud-based deployment pipelines and DevOps practices.
•Experience building pipelines in a cloud environment; Azure is preferred.
•Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and learn new technologies with minimal direction.
•Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with remote and distributed teams.
•Experience in at least one of the following industries: retail, manufacturing, supply chain, or logistics.
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
•Ability to work Eastern Time (EST) hours in a fully remote position.
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience with Profound.js.
•Experience with IBM i / AS400 systems.
•Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
•Experience with the .NET Framework or .NET Core.
•Experience with Express.js.
•Experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
•Mobile application development experience.
