About The Role
We are seeking a talented Mobile App Developer with Kotlin expertise to join our growing mobile development team. As mobile-first solutions become increasingly critical to our client delivery, we need a skilled developer who can design, build, and maintain high-quality Android applications and contribute to cross-platform development initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects within consulting environments, leveraging Kotlin Multiplatform to expand reach and efficiency. You will be responsible for translating client requirements into scalable, user-friendly mobile solutions, ensuring optimal performance, and supporting the adoption of best practices in mobile development. Qualifications
Essential qualifications for this role include proven experience developing production Android applications with Kotlin, demonstrating a solid understanding of mobile development principles and UI/UX considerations. Hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform development and Google Firebase is required, along with the ability to enhance and optimize existing mobile solutions. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive testing and documentation. Familiarity with GDS Service Standard and government digital services is desirable, especially for those with a background working in consultancy or client-facing environments. A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development is highly valued.
Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include designing and developing robust Android applications using Kotlin, adhering to best practices and architectural patterns. You will implement and maintain Firebase services to support app functionality and develop cross-platform solutions using Kotlin Multiplatform, maximizing code reusability across platforms. The role involves enhancing and optimizing existing mobile solutions, identifying opportunities for technical improvements, and translating requirements into scalable solutions in collaboration with product managers, designers, and backend developers. You will be responsible for writing clean, maintainable code with thorough testing and documentation, participating in code reviews, and contributing to continuous process improvements. Supporting clients in understanding mobile best practices and GDS service standards, troubleshooting technical issues, and evaluating emerging technologies to inform architectural decisions will also be part of your duties.
