Role Description The Mechanical CAD Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune. In this position, the designer prepares detailed 2D and 3D sheet metal mechanical drawings, models, and assemblies for lighting tower components and systems using solidworks. Responsibilities include translating design concepts into manufacturable drawings, creating and updating construction and fabrication drawings, and ensuring designs meet functional, safety, and quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with design engineers, production teams, and suppliers to resolve design issues, optimize components for cost-effective manufacturing, and support product improvements. The Mechanical CAD Designer will also maintain drawing databases, adhere to company drafting standards, and assist in documentation required for engineering change management.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Design Engineering.
3-4 years of experience in sheet metal design and development.
Candidates should possess skills in Technical Drawing and Drawing for mechanical components.
Candidates should possess skills in creating and interpreting Construction Drawings.
Proficiency in SolidWorks sheetmetal.
A diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Experience in product design for industrial or mechanical equipment, ideally in fabrication or manufacturing environments, is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail, ability to read and interpret engineering standards, and effective communication and teamwork skills are important.
