Role Description The IT Systems Administrator (part-time, remote) is responsible for maintaining and supporting the company’s core IT infrastructure and user environments. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring system performance, managing user accounts and permissions, and performing regular updates and backups. The role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, providing remote technical support to team members, and ensuring that servers, networks, and cloud-based tools remain secure and reliable. The administrator will collaborate with leadership to implement IT best practices, enhance system efficiency, and document procedures and configurations. This role requires effective communication with non-technical stakeholders and the ability to prioritize tasks in a flexible, remote setting.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong System Administration and Information Technology skills, including managing operating systems, user accounts, and cloud or on-premise environments.
Candidates should possess solid Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills to resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
Candidates should possess practical Network Security skills, including experience with firewalls, antivirus solutions, access controls, and security monitoring.
Candidates should have familiarity with common collaboration tools (e.g., email platforms, VPNs, cloud storage) and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Candidates should demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills, strong organization, and the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity.
A relevant diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, plus prior experience in system or network administration, is preferred.
Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft/Cloud certifications are beneficial.
