About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

We are hiring for a leading German Ecommerce player's (present in 15 countries) Biz Dev team.
Salary will range from 20LPA to 27LPA based on role offered and candidate profile.
Role will be based in Noida.
You will work closely with the expert Team Lead of Biz Dev (based in Germany) and support him in growing the business vertical. You will get front seat view of the business and full ownership of your work/results.
About the Role
We are looking for a commercially minded Senior Business Development Analyst to help drive the growth, performance, and profitability of our B2B business. You will work closely with business stakeholders in India and Munich to turn data into actionable insights, identify growth opportunities, and improve decision-making.
This role combines business analysis, commercial strategy, financial modelling, and analytics automation. You will own key performance reporting, investigate business trends, build business cases, and proactively identify opportunities to improve how we operate.
We are particularly interested in candidates with e-commerce or marketplace experience and a strong academic background, who combine analytical rigour with practical business judgement and a bias for action.
What You'll Bring
Relevant experience: 4–6 years of experience in business analytics, commercial analytics, data analytics, or business intelligence.
E-commerce experience: Experience in e-commerce, online marketplaces, or retail is strongly preferred, particularly in roles involving commercial performance, pricing, growth, profitability, or customer analytics.
Strong academic background: A strong academic track record is preferred, especially in quantitative or analytical disciplines such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, economics, or business analytics.
Advanced SQL: Ability to independently write complex queries, combine data from multiple sources, and investigate business questions.
Programming and automation: Practical experience with Python or comparable tools for data analysis and process automation.
Reporting and visualisation: Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and experience with a BI tool such as Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, or a similar platform.
Commercial understanding: Ability to connect analytical findings to business outcomes, with an understanding of revenue, margins, pricing, customer behaviour, and profitability.
Structured problem-solving: Ability to break down ambiguous business problems, identify relevant drivers, and develop data-backed recommendations.
Ownership and initiative: A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a willingness to challenge assumptions, flag issues early, and follow through on solutions.
AI fluency: Comfortable using AI tools and LLM-based workflows to improve analytical productivity, with an interest in exploring new applications.
Communication: Strong written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate insights clearly and work effectively with international stakeholders.
What You'll Do
1. Own Business Performance Reporting
Own weekly and monthly reporting on B2B performance, including market performance, sales funnels, and account management KPIs.
Define, document, and maintain clear KPI definitions to ensure consistent reporting across teams.
Build and improve dashboards and reporting tools that make business performance easy to understand and act on.
2. Turn Data into Commercial Insights
Analyse business performance to understand key drivers of growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Investigate trends, deviations, and root causes, proactively highlighting risks and opportunities.
Conduct analyses across GMV, customer and account cohorts, lead conversion, retention, and account manager productivity.
Translate findings into clear recommendations for business stakeholders.
3. Support Commercial Strategy and Decision-Making
Build business cases and driver-based financial models for initiatives such as discounting, new verticals, market expansion, and new tools or processes.
Evaluate pricing, growth opportunities, customer segments, and commercial initiatives.
Support experiments and performance evaluations, including A/B testing where relevant.
Quantify the expected impact of business decisions and track outcomes against expectations.
4. Build Scalable Analytical Solutions
Use advanced SQL to extract, transform, and analyse data from multiple sources.
Use Python or comparable tools to automate recurring analyses and reduce manual reporting effort.
Develop reusable datasets, analytical workflows, and self-service reporting solutions.
Improve data quality, reporting reliability, and the scalability of analytical processes.
5. Leverage AI and Automation
Use AI tools, coding agents, and LLM-based workflows to accelerate analysis and automate repetitive tasks.
Identify opportunities to streamline existing reporting and analytical processes through automation.
Experiment with practical applications of AI to improve team productivity and analytical capabilities.
6. Partner with Business Stakeholders
Act as a go-to analytical partner for the B2B team.
Work closely with stakeholders to translate business questions into structured analyses and actionable recommendations.
Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Take ownership of analytical projects from problem definition through to implementation and impact measurement.
Why Join Us?
Direct business impact: Your analysis will influence commercial decisions, growth initiatives, and profitability.
Broad ownership: Work across reporting, commercial strategy, financial modelling, and automation rather than focusing on dashboards alone.
Opportunity to build: Develop scalable analytical solutions and improve how the business uses data.
AI-driven ways of working: Explore and implement AI tools and automation to make analytical work faster and more effective.
International exposure: Collaborate closely with colleagues in Munich and contribute to a growing B2B business.
We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical fundamentals, commercial curiosity, and a proactive approach to solving business problems—someone who does not just report what happened, but helps the business understand why it happened and what to do next.
