Role Description The Owner role at India Shelter Finance Corporation Ltd in Maharashtra, India is a full-time, on-site leadership position responsible for overseeing overall business performance and strategic direction at the state or regional level. The individual in this role will guide operational planning, set growth targets, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies for housing finance activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising key business functions such as sales, credit, collections, and customer service, while fostering a culture of ethical lending practices and customer-centricity. The Owner will collaborate with senior management to develop market expansion plans, monitor portfolio quality, manage risk, and optimize resource allocation. This role also involves mentoring team members, representing the organization with external stakeholders, and driving initiatives that strengthen India Shelter’s brand and community impact in affordable housing finance.
Qualifications
Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience overseeing multi-functional teams in financial services or a related sector.
Strong strategic planning and business development abilities, including market analysis, growth planning, and portfolio management.
Solid understanding of housing finance, credit assessment, risk management, and regulatory requirements in the Indian financial ecosystem.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills to engage internal teams, partners, and customers effectively.
Demonstrated capability in operational excellence, process improvement, and performance tracking using data-driven decision-making.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications in banking or finance are an advantage.
Experience working in Maharashtra or similar markets, with familiarity with local customer segments and housing finance needs.
High level of integrity, customer-centric mindset, and commitment to promoting inclusive, non-discriminatory lending practices.
