Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Coimbatore for a CNC Setter and Operator – Turning Machine. The role involves setting up CNC turning machines, selecting appropriate tools and fixtures, and loading programs according to job specifications and engineering drawings. The CNC Setter and Operator will monitor machining operations, measure components, and adjust offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Daily tasks include performing basic machine maintenance, following safety procedures, maintaining documentation of production activities, and coordinating with supervisors or engineers on process improvements and issue resolution. The individual will also ensure that work is completed according to quality standards and production timelines.
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, job sheets, and measurement reports.
Hands-on experience in setting and operating CNC turning machines, including tool selection and program loading.
Knowledge of machining processes, cutting parameters, and basic troubleshooting of machining issues.
Proficiency with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and other inspection tools.
Understanding of shop-floor safety practices and basic machine maintenance procedures.
Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to follow standardized work instructions.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a production team environment.
Relevant technical qualification or diploma in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing or equivalent practical experience in CNC machining.
