Founding Robotics Engineer

We're hiring a Founding Robotics Engineer at AUM Robotics. We build robots that take on overhead MEP work in data centers: drilling, anchoring, bolting, torque checks and inspection at 5 to 7 m, so crews can stay on the floor.
What you'll build
• Our Phase 1 robot, a cobot arm on an AMR with a swappable EOAT, taken from bench prototype to first site demos in early 2027
• Long term: a fleet of robots running skill policies (drill, bolt, inspect) that get better with every site, using BIM, perception and crew input
What you'll own
• Manipulation and force control for overhead drilling, fastening and torquing
• 3D perception and localization in dust, glare and low light
• Tool head design and integration, from CAD to field
• The technical roadmap, and hiring and shaping the engineering team as we grow
You might be a fit if
• You've shipped robots, or software tied to hardware, that runs outside the lab
• You're strong in ROS 2, C++ or Python, and deep in at least one of manipulation, perception or controls
• You like being on site, testing what you built
• Bonus: construction, MEP or industrial automation experience
