Project Management Director

The Project Management Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic projects across the organization. This role establishes project management standards, coordinates cross-functional teams, manages project portfolios, and ensures that initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with the company's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement project management strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Establish project plans, timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource requirements.
Prioritize projects based on business impact, operational needs, and strategic objectives.
Ensure project scope, deliverables, and success criteria are clearly defined.
Project Execution & Delivery
Oversee multiple projects from initiation through completion.
Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
Identify potential delays, resource constraints, and execution risks.
Implement corrective actions to maintain project quality and delivery timelines.
Project Portfolio & Resource Management
Manage the project portfolio and allocate resources across key initiatives.
Coordinate with department leaders to balance priorities and resource demands.
Establish project tracking systems, reporting standards, and performance metrics.
Evaluate project outcomes and recommend improvements to delivery processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with finance, operations, technology, compliance, and other business teams.
Facilitate communication and decision-making among project stakeholders.
Ensure alignment between project objectives and departmental priorities.
Resolve project-related conflicts and remove barriers to execution.
Project Governance & Risk Management
Establish project governance frameworks, methodologies, and accountability standards.
Identify and mitigate project, operational, financial, and scheduling risks.
Prepare executive-level project reports and communicate progress to senior leadership.
Ensure projects comply with internal policies, documentation requirements, and applicable regulations.
Process Improvement & Organizational Development
Improve project management methodologies, workflows, and reporting processes.
Promote standardized project management practices and continuous improvement.
Mentor project managers and develop team capabilities.
Support organizational change initiatives and business transformation programs.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Master's degree or MBA preferred.
8–12 years of progressive experience in project management, program management, or business operations.
Demonstrated experience managing complex projects, budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams.
Experience in financial services, fintech, technology, trading, or other regulated industries preferred.
PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
