We're Hiring | Founding Embedded Systems Engineer
Aquelious Industries Pvt. Ltd. | Aquaculture Technology | Founding Team
At Aquelious, we're building intelligent systems for aquatic operations, beginning with aquaculture.
Our work sits at the intersection of embedded systems, electronics, sensing, connectivity and software. We're developing technology to help aquaculture operators gain better visibility into water conditions and, over time, enable more intelligent operational decisions and automation.
We're looking for a Founding Embedded Systems Engineer / Engineering Student to take ownership of the embedded foundation of our aquaculture technology.
This is an opportunity to join at an early stage, work directly on core product development, and help shape the engineering decisions behind a real-world hardware product.
What you'll work on
- Develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers and sensor-integrated systems.
- Integrate water-quality sensors such as dissolved oxygen, pH, temperature and other relevant parameters.
- Design and debug hardware–firmware interfaces, communication protocols and peripheral integrations.
- Work with UART, I²C, SPI, RS485, Wi-Fi, BLE and other suitable communication technologies.
- Develop reliable data acquisition, device monitoring and error-handling mechanisms.
- Support PCB prototyping, electronics debugging, calibration and hardware validation.
- Collaborate with software, mechanical and ML engineers to integrate embedded devices with the wider system.
- Participate in field testing and improve device reliability under real aquaculture conditions.
What we're looking for
- Strong fundamentals in embedded systems, electronics and microcontrollers.
- Hands-on experience with ESP32, STM32, Arduino or equivalent platforms.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded firmware development.
- Understanding of digital interfaces, serial communication, sensors and debugging tools.
- A practical approach to troubleshooting hardware and firmware problems.
- Willingness to prototype, test, document, iterate and take technical ownership.
Experience with RTOS, low-power design, PCB design, industrial communication protocols, IoT connectivity or environmental sensing is a plus.
We value engineering fundamentals, demonstrated projects, ownership and the ability to turn ideas into working systems. You do not need to know everything on day one.
Eligibility
- Engineering students currently studying in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
- Students from any year of their engineering degree are welcome to apply.
- Candidates from relevant engineering disciplines, particularly Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Computer Science and related fields, are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated interest in embedded systems and hands-on hardware projects is highly valued.
Why join Aquelious?
- Work on real-world aquaculture and water-monitoring challenges.
- Take ownership of core product development from an early stage.
- Collaborate across electronics, software, mechanical engineering and applied intelligence.
- Help establish the embedded architecture and engineering practices of a growing deep-tech venture.
- Grow with the founding engineering team as the product moves through prototyping, validation and deployment.
