Job Description: Principal Officer (AML/CFT Compliance)
Experience required: 3+ Years
Industry: Web3 / Crypto Derivatives Exchange
About the Role:
We are launching a high-leverage, INR-native crypto derivatives exchange built for retail and institutional traders in India (similar to Shark and Delta Exchange). We are looking for an agile, detail-oriented Principal Officer to lead our Regulatory and AML/CFT compliance framework.
As the designated Principal Officer under the PMLA, 2002, you will be legally responsible for establishing, maintaining, and reviewing our anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing systems. You will report directly to the Board of Directors and act as our sole point of contact with FIU-IND.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the entire end-to-end relationship with FIU-IND using the FINnet 2.0 portal, including filing STRs.
- Design and oversee a frictionless user onboarding flow utilizing automated video-KYC, Central KYC (CKYC) registries, and DigiLocker integrations.
- Set risk-based transaction monitoring rules and velocity limits optimized for high-leverage futures and options trading.
- Integrate and manage blockchain analytics platforms (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic) to track, trace, and block wallet deposits/withdrawals tied to high-risk entities.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in compliance, AML/CFT, or regulatory operations within an FIU-registered crypto exchange, stockbroking firm, or major fintech payment gateway.
- Deep working familiarity with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 and current FIU guidelines for VDAs.
- CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) certification is a massive plus.
