Who we’re looking for
You notice things other people miss. You have opinions worth reading. And you know how to make a sentence earn its place.
COOL HAND FRANK is looking for nonfiction writers with an original voice and a distinct point of view.
If you write witty essays, thoughtful commentary or true stories that are relevant, compelling and a little unexpected, we’d like to read your work.

COOL HAND FRANK is a two-year-old independent digital publication featuring original work created by real people, selected and presented with care. We’re writers and visual artists here for readers who want something more rewarding than another endlessly scrolling feed.
We publish writing that entertains, offers perspective and makes everyday life worth a closer look. Culture, relationships, music, modern habits, personal experiences: Bring our readers a fresh angle and a reason to keep reading.
Our subscribers are true believers in what we offer: youthful, vibrant content that’s authentic, entertaining and brief, presented on a distraction-free online platform.
The opportunity
Contribute at least one nonfiction piece per month.
Give readers something worth their time: a revealing observation, an unexpected viewpoint, a story that stays with them.
No lectures, no pushiness. Just good writing with your name on it. Your writing has value here.

Compensation
This role does not include a salary or per-piece payment. However, you’ll receive two personalized membership referral codes to share with others and earn money when new subscribers use them.

Familiarity with AP style, though it is not required.
Comfort with AI-assisted editing to strengthen storytelling and readability. All submissions must be original, human-written work. Writers are strictly prohibited from using generative AI to write or rewrite submissions.
Whether you’re in college, recently graduated or taking a less conventional path, we’re interested in your writing, not your résumé.
