Role Description The Medical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the overall clinical and administrative operations of the hospital on a day-to-day basis. This full-time, on-site role in Bareilly includes supervising medical and nursing staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. The Medical Superintendent will coordinate with department heads, manage resource utilization, and monitor compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. The role involves developing and implementing hospital policies, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and addressing patient feedback and incident reports. The Medical Superintendent also participates in strategic planning, supports training programs, and ensures effective communication across clinical and administrative teams.
Qualifications
Strong clinical background with an MBBS degree; postgraduate qualification (MD/MS or equivalent) in a relevant specialty is preferred.
Experience in hospital administration, including supervision of medical services, staff management, and policy implementation.
Knowledge of hospital operations, quality assurance, infection control, and patient safety standards.
Proficiency in healthcare regulations, licensing requirements, and compliance with national and local health authorities.
Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on ethical and patient-centered care.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with medical, nursing, and administrative teams.
Ability to manage emergency situations, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Familiarity with hospital information systems and basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
Prior experience as a Medical Superintendent or in a senior hospital management role is highly beneficial.
