The company manufactures approximately 800 MT per month of fabricated materials for leading industrial clients across India, including major engineering and manufacturing organizations. Role Description The Safety Officer Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Jharsuguda, responsible for overseeing workplace health, safety, and security across fabrication, erection, and commissioning activities. The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards and company requirements. Daily tasks include conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits; identifying hazards; and ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly. The Safety Officer Lead will organize and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for all levels of personnel, and maintain accurate records of incidents, near-misses, and compliance documentation. This role also coordinates emergency preparedness, leads accident investigations, supports occupational health initiatives, and collaborates with project and operations teams to foster a strong safety culture.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to develop and enforce comprehensive safety management systems.
Proficiency in Accident Investigation, including root cause analysis, incident reporting, and implementation of preventive measures.
Experience in Safety Training, conducting safety inductions, toolbox talks, and periodic refresher programs for diverse teams.
Knowledge of Security practices in industrial environments, including access control, site security protocols, and emergency response coordination.
Relevant diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline; professional safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are an advantage.
Familiarity with national safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements applicable to fabrication, construction, and industrial projects.
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to influence and promote a safety-first culture.
Proven experience in a safety leadership role within fabrication, construction, or heavy industrial environments is highly desirable.
