Position: Multiline P&C Underwriter
Type: Contract
Compensation: $80/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20–40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
Design realistic underwriting scenarios involving new business, renewals, exposure analysis, and risk-improvement requirements.
Create underwriting assessments, quote rationales, and declination explanations to support model training.
Write "golden" reference responses at experienced underwriter quality to guide AI model outputs.
Grade AI-generated responses against structured rubrics for technical accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
Identify unsupported assumptions and inappropriate acceptance or declination decisions in AI outputs.
Provide written feedback to the research team to improve model behavior and performance.
Qualifications
Must-Have
2+ years of professional P&C underwriting experience.
Experience underwriting major segments like personal lines, commercial property, or professional liability.
Understanding of the underwriting lifecycle from submission to nonrenewal.
Ability to explain how account characteristics and market conditions affect underwriting decisions.
Strong written reasoning, sound risk judgment, and high attention to detail.
Ability to separate underwriting decisions from claims handling and brokerage advice.
Preferred
CPCU, AU, ARM, or comparable insurance designation.
Multiline underwriting authority.
Experience with E&S, MGA/MGU, Lloyd's, or program-business.
Catastrophe-exposed property or high-severity casualty experience.
Experience with small commercial, middle-market, national-account, or high-net-worth segments.
Start Date

Compensation & Legal
