Role Description The Owner at The Sparks Foundation will lead the overall strategic direction, operations, and growth of the organization. This full-time, on-site role in Kolkata involves overseeing educational programs, managing key partnerships, and ensuring alignment with the vision to inspire, innovate, and integrate. The Owner will supervise staff, allocate resources, and monitor project delivery to maintain high-quality student experiences. Daily responsibilities include decision-making on organizational priorities, engagement with stakeholders, and continuous improvement of processes and initiatives. The role also includes representing the organization in external events, building community relationships, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards.
Qualifications
Experience in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and operational management in an educational or nonprofit setting.
Strong skills in program development, curriculum oversight, and student-centered initiatives focused on innovation and collaboration.
Proficiency in stakeholder management, including partnerships with schools, community groups, funders, and volunteers.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate diverse teams and young learners.
Demonstrated ability in financial oversight, budgeting, and resource allocation to support sustainable growth.
Background in education, social impact, youth development, or a related field; a bachelor’s or master’s degree is highly beneficial.
Ability to work on-site in Kolkata, manage multiple priorities, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
