Vilas Transcore Limited having presence in Vadodara since 1996 is in the production of Transformders Radiator & Lamination sheet & Transformers components, copper.
we required for our new Copper Division plant QC Manager .

Location: Vadodara, Gujarat
Experience: 8–15 Years in Copper, Electrical Conductors, Enamelling or Related Manufacturing
Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgy or equivalent technical qualification. Diploma holders with strong relevant experience may also be considered.
Job Purpose
To lead and manage the Quality Control and Quality Assurance functions across Copper manufacturing, CT Cables, Enamelling and PICC production. The role is responsible for ensuring product quality, compliance with customer specifications and applicable standards, process control, reduction of rejection and rework, timely inspection, customer satisfaction, and continual improvement throughout the manufacturing process.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. Quality Control – Copper Manufacturing
Establish and implement quality standards for copper rods, strips, busbars, conductors and other copper products manufactured by the company.
Monitor incoming raw materials, in-process production and final product inspection.
Verify critical parameters such as dimensions, thickness, width, conductivity, resistivity, elongation, tensile strength and surface finish, as applicable to the product.
Ensure proper inspection of copper purity, material composition and supplier test certificates.
Control defects such as scratches, oxidation, dimensional variation, surface defects and material contamination.
Coordinate with Production, Purchase and Stores for material non-conformities and corrective actions.
B. Quality Control – CT Cables
Ensure inspection and testing of CT cables and related conductor products according to approved customer specifications and applicable standards.
Monitor conductor dimensions, insulation thickness, concentricity, resistance, continuity and other applicable electrical and mechanical parameters.
Verify process controls during drawing, stranding, insulation, extrusion and finishing, wherever applicable to the manufacturing process.
Ensure traceability of raw materials, production batches, inspection records and finished goods.
Coordinate with production teams to prevent defects and ensure product conformity before dispatch.
C. Quality Control – Enamelling
Monitor quality parameters for enamelled copper wires and conductors.
Control conductor dimensions, enamel coating thickness, continuity, pinholes, adhesion, flexibility, abrasion resistance and breakdown voltage, as applicable to the product specification.
Monitor enamelling oven temperature, line speed, coating consistency and curing conditions.
Ensure compliance with applicable IEC, IS, ASTM or customer-specific standards.
Analyse enamel-related defects, identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
D. Quality Control – PICC Manufacturing
Establish inspection and testing procedures for PICC products according to the approved product specifications and manufacturing process.
Monitor conductor dimensions, insulation or covering quality, surface finish, electrical properties and mechanical performance, wherever applicable.
Verify critical process parameters and ensure that all inspection equipment is suitable for the required tests.
Coordinate with Production and Engineering to resolve process deviations and product defects.
Maintain batch-wise inspection reports and ensure product traceability.
Note: The specific inspection parameters and standards for PICC must be finalized according to the company's actual PICC product and customer specifications.
E. Incoming, In-Process and Final Quality
Implement and maintain incoming quality control (IQC), in-process quality control (IPQC) and final quality control (FQC).
Prepare and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) and inspection checklists.
Define acceptance criteria, sampling plans and inspection frequencies.
Ensure calibration and verification of measuring instruments and testing equipment.
Authorize release or hold of non-conforming materials and finished products in accordance with approved procedures.
Ensure that no non-conforming product is dispatched without authorized disposition.
F. Quality Management System and Compliance
Implement and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and applicable customer or product-specific requirements.
Ensure compliance with relevant IEC, IS, ASTM and other applicable standards.
Maintain quality manuals, SOPs, work instructions, inspection formats and quality records.
Coordinate internal audits, customer audits, supplier audits and external certification audits.
Track audit observations, non-conformities and closure of corrective actions.
Ensure documentation and traceability for customer inspections and statutory or certification requirements, wherever applicable.
G. Rejection, Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement
Analyse internal rejection, customer complaints, rework, scrap and process deviations.
Conduct root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, 8D and other suitable problem-solving methods.
Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Work with Production, Maintenance and Engineering to reduce recurring defects.
Monitor Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and identify opportunities to improve yield and reduce quality-related losses.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement preventive quality controls.
H. Customer Complaint Management
Investigate customer complaints and prepare structured responses and 8D reports, where required.
Coordinate customer visits, product inspections, sample approvals and technical discussions.
Ensure timely closure of complaints and verification of corrective action effectiveness.
Maintain customer-wise quality performance records and identify recurring concerns.
I. Team Management and Training
Lead QC Engineers, Quality Inspectors, Lab Technicians and other quality personnel.
Allocate inspection responsibilities and establish shift-wise quality coverage.
Develop skill matrices and training plans for the quality team.
Train employees on product specifications, inspection methods, defect identification and quality procedures.
Ensure discipline, safety, 5S and proper laboratory practices.
Conduct periodic performance reviews and develop team capabilities.
J. Coordination and Reporting
Coordinate with Production, PPC, Maintenance, Purchase, Stores, Dispatch and Sales teams.
Participate in daily production and quality review meetings.
Submit daily, weekly and monthly quality MIS reports to the Plant Head and Management.
