The Role
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health Safety Environment (HSE) Advisor to support workplace safety, environmental management, and risk prevention initiatives. You will work with management and operational teams to identify hazards, review procedures, monitor compliance, and recommend practical improvements. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with sound judgment, clear communication, and a commitment to building a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance on health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Conduct or coordinate risk assessments, hazard identification, job safety reviews, and environmental impact assessments.
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HSE management systems.
Review workplace procedures and help align operations with applicable legislation and internal requirements.
Coordinate safety inspections, compliance reviews, audits, and corrective action tracking.
Support the investigation of incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and environmental events.
Maintain HSE documentation, risk registers, incident records, inspection reports, and compliance trackers.
Develop safety guidance, training materials, toolbox talks, and employee awareness initiatives.
Advise project and operational teams on risk mitigation, emergency preparedness, and preventive measures.
Monitor environmental practices involving waste management, pollution prevention, and resource efficiency.
Track HSE performance indicators and prepare reports highlighting trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Follow up on corrective and preventive actions to help ensure issues are resolved effectively.
Collaborate with management, contractors, and relevant stakeholders to strengthen safety practices.
Recommend improvements to reduce workplace risks and promote responsible environmental performance.
Requirements
Preferred 3+ years of experience in health and safety, environmental management, HSE advisory, or operational risk.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Good understanding of hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigation, and HSE procedures.
Familiarity with safety documentation, compliance monitoring, environmental reporting, and audit preparation.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to assess risks, document findings, and communicate practical recommendations.
Professional judgment and a strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental responsibility.
Ability to coordinate with operational teams and provide remote advisory support.
Relevant HSE certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
