About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Company description
Pravaak builds condition monitoring for industrial machinery. We instrument equipment at ports, plants and pipelines, pull the signals continuously, and flag degradation before it turns into downtime. Our current focus is marine loading arms: expensive, safety-critical, and almost never monitored properly. We’re a small engineering team. Interns here work on live systems, not sandbox projects.
Role description
Project: Design and commission the PLC control and data-acquisition layer for marine loading arm health monitoring :- reading sensor data off the machine, getting it into our platform reliably, and validating it against known machine behaviour. You’d own this end to end over six months, scoped to work as a college capstone. (adjust to match what you actually want built)Getting there looks like:
Writing and debugging PLC logic (ladder, function block) on [Siemens / Allen-Bradley / Delta — whichever you run]
Figuring out why a register isn’t updating, or why a comms link drops every few hours
Reading control and electrical schematics, and keeping documentation accurate when logic changes
Getting PLC data into our monitoring platform cleanly
Code reviews, weekly reviews, and a final write-up you can defend to your department
You’ll be mentored by [name, title]. You’ll be expected to chase problems down yourself before escalating.
Qualifications
Needed:
You’ve written PLC logic somewhere — coursework, a competition, an internship, a personal project. All of it counts.
You can read an electrical or control schematic and follow the signal path.
You understand sensors, actuators, control loops, and at least one industrial comms protocol.
You write clearly enough to document what you changed and why. On a remote team this matters more than people expect.
Pursuing or recently finished a degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, or similar.
Add Ons: SCADA, Modbus or OPC UA, industrial networking, any exposure to sensor or time-series data.Duration: 6 months, structured as a college capstone Stipend: ₹5,000/month. Format: Remote, 20–25 hrs/week. [weekly call day/time] You also get: completion certificate, a written recommendation from your mentor, and we handle your college’s paperwork with mentor sign-off, mid-term evaluations, reports, faculty review calls.
